Upcoming Events! Best of the Northwest

Hi everybody. I have news on a couple of new shows coming up. They are spaced out over a month or two so I will give little reminders as they approach. I’ll be giving a printing demonstration at the Steinbrueck Gallery on the last Saturday of April I think it is the 25th. It will be on their website, and I’ll give a reminder as it gets closer.
I will also be at a Native Art Show in Lincoln City at the Chinook Winds Casino over Memorial Day Weekend, I’ll give a reminder of that too.
The next show that I will be doing is a local show. The Best of the Northwest. For several years people have been urging me to try and get into this show. It is a new direction for me as I usually stick with Native Based Shows but I wanted to branch out and try something new. The show is April 3rd 4th and 5th at the Seattle center. I have never been at this show but I hear it is a great show with tremendous artists so I am excited to be taking part in it. If it goes well I will participate in their other show in November. Their website is listed below. I’ve been lining up a lot of shows this year and will be listing them on the blog as they near. I’m busy working on several new designs and I am very excited about a couple of them. I’m trying a few new styles and am excited on how they are looking so far. I hope get them up on the blog as I get them finished. Hope all is going well in your world Take Care.

Artist Profile: M.Dawson Photography

Well it’s finals week and I should really be doing some last-minute cramming hoping for one more nugget of information but I decided to take a short break. I told ya after the Phoenix blog that I would profile a new artist so here we go. Today’s profile is Dawson Photography. These photographers are close friends of mine based in Phoenix. One of the best portrait photographers I know, I would have no problem booking them to take any type of portrait for me. Really, if they didn’t live so far away anytime I needed a new head shot or something for a gallery bio or whatever other reason a person needs a portrait I would call on them, they are that good. Check out their website:

If you are really ambitious you can even book them and us (my wife and me ) to do a wedding for you! Imagine that, 4 photographers capturing your special day! It can be arranged.
Anyway if you are in the Phoenix area and need photography, forget the department store photo areas and give Misti, and J a call they will do a better job at a great price.

Heard Update and Upcoming Events.

Phoenix was great! The weather couldn’t have been better, sunny, warm, in a word perfect. After a perfect weekend in Phoenix we came home to snow. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and chatted, and special thanks to those who stopped by and bought something. Snow wasn’t the only thing we came home to. We received good news about two shows I applied for and was waiting on. They both just let me know that I was accepted, so it looks like I will be in Enumclaw Washington for the Western & Wildlife Art Magazine’s Wildlife Art Show June 13-14. Here is their website: www.WildLifeArtShows.com
The second show I was accepted into was the Eiteljorg Museum’s Indian Art Market held June 27-28th in Indianapolis. Their website is: www.eiteljorg.org
I haven’t participated in either of these shows and I have no idea how they will actually go, but I am looking forward to them. Eiteljorg is the 3rd largest Indian art market in the country. I am very excited about getting into Eiteljorg.

The wild life art show is a different direction than I have ever gone, branching out a bit to test the waters. Most of the art there will be wildlife based which is easy to figure out from the name, they also have some Indian art which of course is where I come in. The cool thing about this show is that proceeds go towards wildlife protection and conservation and good things like that. you can read all about it on their website.I hope to see you at one of these events. I’ll mention these events again as they come closer. Later this week I’ll do another artist profile it will be a photographer friend of mine from Phoenix. Until then have a wonderful day. Take Care.

Phoenix this weekend

I’ll be at the Heard Museum’s 51st annual Indian Art Market in Phoenix this weekend. If you are going to be there I can’t wait to see you. If you know someone in the area let them know about it and tell them to stop by and say hi. Last year I ran into a ton of snowbirds from Washington and Oregon. It was quite the experience. If you know of great places to eat or fun things to do in the Phoenix area let me know, I’m always open to suggestions, last year I found a place with the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. I’m going back there for sure!

My booth number is: Area 0 Booth 0-09 (I have no idea where that is)
The show is this weekend March 7th and 8th
Look forward to seeing you there!
