Artist Profile: Pargeets Collection

Alright so here goes the first artist profile: (with more to come) for the first one I have chosen some friends of mine. The Pargeets Collection; here is a link to their website:

This Northern Ute Family lives in New Mexico. Collectively, this family creates and sells beautiful beadwork. I have ordered a few pieces from them and each one was absolutely stunning. If you are in the market for some beadwork, or are looking to learn more about this type of art check these guys out. They produce only the highest quality beadwork. I got a barrette for my wife a few years ago, she wears it regularly and it is still as beautiful as the day I got it. They also do custom orders and their prices are fair.

New Gallery to view my work!

I just got a bunch of my work into the Steinbrueck Gallery in Seattle. This is a great gallery! It is located about a block North of Pikes Place Market. Address: 2030 Western Avenue Ste. B Seattle WA.
The owners and employees are actually nice, not the fake trying to sell you something nice but actually nice.
The theme for February 2009 is: The lovebirds
They have events all the time with many different artists and have a great selection from some of the best northwest coastal artists working today. Go check them out, they are a great gallery.

The Blog actually Begins!!

I am actually going to try and get this blog off the ground. I think the purpose of the blog will be a few things. The main and most important function will be to keep you updated on what is happening and upcoming events. So here is the news:

My next big show will be the 51st annual Indian art Market at the Heard Museum in Pheonix Arizona on March 7th and 8th 2009. My booth number is: Area 0 Booth 0-09. I will introduce some new serigraphs at the show (hopefully) and I should have some drums, tons of serigraphs, and some cards. Stop by and chat, there are hundreds of tremendous artists at this event.

Another thing I am thinking about doing is featuring other artists, both upcoming and established. These artists will be friends of mine, artists I have worked with, or artists who have inspired me with their art. This should we a wide ranging group from anywhere in the world, covering many different media, styles, and variety. It should be fun. One thing to note is I am not planning on telling the artists I am featuring them, more like a news cast just showing my appreciation. Any suggestions or suggested artists are welcome.

Back up and At it.

OK, I’m terrible about blogging. I admit it, it’s not always on the top of my list of things to do. So to fill everyone in as far as what has happened in the last year or so. We moved, I’m in Law School so I am always reading or just stressing out. That really sums it up. As far as the art side of things the next big thing is the Heard Museum’s Indian Art Market in March. I’ll be there. If you want more info on it e-mail me. I will actually try to blog later when I have a better understanding of what a blog is actually supposed to look like and what it is supposed to accomplish.
Until then Take Care

Pete
